3 Popular Ham Radio Brands

When I look around the internet at various Ham Radio Dealers or Amazon Or Ebay I seem to find that there are 3 popular Ham Radio Brands.
  1. ICOM
  2. YAESU
  3. KENWOOD
If you read the reviews at http://www.eham.net/reviews/ you can see why. Of course there are many other Ham Radio Brands out there that work really well. You can find quite a few in the used category at Ebay. If you are looking in the used department of Ham Radio Equipment check out this link USED AND NEW HAM RADIO TRANSCEIVERS

Below are a few of the 3 types of Ham Radios I like.

Power Surge

Summer time is storm time. You definitely should protect your ham radio equipment from those nasty power surges of static electricity that come from the thunder and lightning storms. I used to use the old fashioned type of static surge protector on my cb radio years ago and it did an okay job. Today I use a good MFJ Surge Protector on my Ham Radio Equipment and it does an excellent job of protecting my Kenwood TS 2000 from any static electricity damage. I would also make sure you have good surge protectors to plug all your Ham Radio Equipment into in your Ham Shack. I would also do the same for any Computers in your Ham Shack as well as your house. Working on computers all day I have seen some nasty damage that the thunder and lightning can do, so protect it now.
